HOW DO I MAKE MPC CD-ROMs USING NERO? FAQ
Not sure how to get your Akai MPC sample collection on CD-ROM? Just follow these simple steps and you’ll be up and running in no time!
1.) Open Nero Burning Rom
2.) Choose the CD-ROM (ISO) type CD (it will default to this upon opening the program)
3.) Select the ISO Tab.
4.) Uncheck the ‘ Joliet (Secondary volume descriptor and directories using Unicode)
5.) Uncheck ‘Allow path depth of more than 8 directories’
6.) Uncheck ‘Allow more than 255 characters in path’
7.) Afterwards, Click the ‘New’ Tab
8.) For the MPC2000XL, Drag all . snd/.pgm files or folders containing . snd/.pgm files that you would like on the current CD-ROM. The more organized your sounds, the better.
For the MPC2000, drag the bare samples and .pgm files. The MPC2000 has trouble with folders :).
9.) If you would like to custom name your MPC CD-ROM, right click the CD-ROM icon and choose ‘rename’. Keep in mind you can only use 8 characters for the name.
10.) Select ‘Burn Compilation’ in the ‘Recorder’ Drop down menu.
11.) Check the ‘Finalize CD’ and click ‘Burn’
*Note: Remember to ‘re-check’ these items when burning regular CD-ROMs otherwise your files and folder names will change – this can be quite frustrating.
